Learn to Row 2024

Published Tue 30 Apr 2024

The Buckingham Rowing Club are running a 2024 Learn to Row programme. This is a four-week programme designed to teach the basic skills of rowing and is suited to anyone wanting to give rowing a try for the first time or if you are wanting to refresh your skills / technique before recommencing the sport..

Commencing: Saturday, the 25 May, 9.00am – 10.30am

Duration: 4 weeks

Where: New Town Bay Rowing Centre, Marine Parade, New Town

Cost: $150.00 (This includes Rowing Tas Registration for appropriate insurances)

Rowing is a great way to become fit in a relaxed and scenic outdoor environment. You are not required to be fit to learn to row however, you will be expected to be capable of light intensity aerobic exercise and to be able to swim. No one has fallen out yet.

What to wear: -

  • Important you wear a snug fitting top with gym tights / cycle like shorts. This is so your hands do not get caught in clothing when rowing.
  • Layers are ideal and you can delayer as you warm up.
  • Cap or beanie, and sunscreen.
  • Joggers or slip-ons that you can leave on the ways (aka dock)
  • Thick socks
  • Leave phones/wallets in car. We tuck car keys away in the shed before heading out

If you would like to attend the LTR, please click in following link Register for Developmental Rowing and complete your details. The Club will then invoice you for the fees.

We look forward to meeting you and if you have any questions in the meantime, please feel free to contact me.
